The Weekend :)

We had a pretty eventful weekend. On Friday, we went on a lovely date, to see the new Bradley Cooper movie. On the drive down though....

our tire blew out. Luckily, I have an amazing honey who knows how to change a tire in under 15 minutes. However, we didn't have enough time to grab dinner, so we were forced to get delicious, tasty Wetzel Pretzel's.
We watched Limitless, and we both really liked it. They do this really cool shot, where it looks like it's zooming in, but the point they zoom into constantly changes. It was a great movie to watch. We definitely want to see it again.
We've actually had a bunch of great dates lately. On Valentine's Day Eve, we went to Boca De Beppos (I think that's how you spell it... but I have no idea how to pronounce it).

There was so much food! It was a really nice place, it was fairly priced for all the food we got, and they had great decorations. Plus, they showed us the kitchen. You know a restaurant is a good one when they aren't afraid of you seeing behind the scenes. It was a lot of fun. :)

After eating, we went to the mall for some cheap, recreational fun in the lego shop. These are our creations. We're super creative. :)

Then a while back, we went to the only zip line on the island! Unfortunately, it's a very short zip line, but it was still very fun. We don't have a picture of the zip line, but to give you an idea, the zip line is over a mini golfing course.

I won't tell you who won. But it rhymes with ... Likey....
On our anniversary weekend we found our favorite restaurant. We've been trying a bunch of new places lately, and this Italian restaurant in Kaneohe has stolen our hearts...or stomachs... I'm not sure which organ you would say...
This was the first time we went... and then we returned about a month later... (I have no idea how he kissed my cheek while he was driving...we must have been at a stop light.)
Anyways, they have this delicious dessert. It's a blondie brownie, and it's the best restaurant dessert I've ever had. Plus, it's huge we can't even finish it. At least not all at once.
We also went to the temple on Thursday and then Mikey had this great idea to have breakfast for dinner. IT WAS SO GOOD! :) He's so smart.

We had to head to Costco on Saturday to restock on produce because we are officially out. On the drive home there was a beautiful full rainbow, and Mikey took some beautiful pictures. These are some that you can almost see the entire thing.

On a side note, this huge thing came into our house like a month ago. Mikey got it on the average sized fly swatter. The moth could have eaten it. We released it back outside as soon as he caught it.
That boat my love is pointing to is our future transportation for our trip around the world. This was our view from where our tire blew out. Coincidence? I think not.

We also figured out what the island in the middle of this island is called this weekend. But we were tired so we didn't drive around it. But this is a picture of the entrance.

P.S. We are entirely crazy about each other. I am eternally grateful.

P.S.

Have I ever mentioned that my husband spoils me? Every day Mikey brings me beautiful flowers that smell so amazing! He is so perfect. I love him so much. I really don't deserve him.
But we haven't figured out the best way to press them... any ideas? Remember it's super humid here so normal book pressing doesn't work...
so...
P.S. I LOVE MIKEY!!!
Aloha,

This weekend was long. Because of the earthquake in Japan, we were told that a tsunami up to 6 feet tall would be hitting our chain of islands. We were blessed that nothing too terrible happened (Haiewa's harbor had damage, as well as in town there was some damage) but the school and the news told us that it would be best to evacuate to higher ground. The tsunami was expected to hit us at 3 am so we headed to Temple Hill to wait it out. The picture above is the view we had of the ocean. We set up our tent where we could see the ocean, so if anything happened we would be able to watch. However, nothing happened that was visible and setting a tent up parallel to the ocean meant we caught every sea breeze in our tent. No fun.
At least we got to be close to the temple all night. It's hard to not feel safe when you're next to it. I wish I had taken a picture of the parking lot though, no one shies away from the temple when there's a tsunami coming.
I guess being in a tent makes me local? I think I was very tired when I chose my hand gesture...
My honey was so cold, wet and tired. It rained on us around 6 am and we had set up the rain fly wrong. In our defense, we set it up at 3 am and people were sleeping on the hill so we didn't want to have our flashlights out.
That was our dog, Roxy and this was the beautiful day after the warning. We are very blessed that our paradise is safe. Our prayers are with all those who were affected by the earthquakes in Japan.

I used past tense when referring to Roxy because we gave her back on Saturday. It was very emotional and sad, but she's not the right fit for us, and she deserves a family who can give her everything she's used to...like a yard. Now were on the search for our next baby (PUPPY people. Geez. No real babies anytime soon). We are looking into beagles because we fell in love with them. So hopefully we find one soon because we really miss having a dog to walk and play tug a war.

A lot has been going on lately, but my internet doesn't work at the house so unfortunately it's hard to post because all of our pictures are on the laptop. I'm taking this really fun art 220 class for general and Mikey's gotten really into it to. We painted all weekend long and even invested in a bunch of cheap paintbrushes so we could do art stuff.

One last thing for this post. The other day we made this most amazing, delicious dinner. It was AWESOME. It had chicken, peppers, broccoli, squash and cauliflower in it. We made it with whole wheat pasta and some kind of Alfredo and it turned out so good. We were very excited and happy about it.

Can you tell? :)

Knowledge is Power.

We went out to the beach with Roxy today. She's such a weird dog, she's "hates" the beach. Every time we're there she's yanks at her leash and tries to run off the entire time. Yet,  she doesn't seem to mind when we're not paying attention to her nagging.
Mikey started out at pipeline, but it got pretty crowded so we headed out to gas chambers and he rode his last couple of waves. It was really nice to play in the ocean! :) Plus it was so beautiful today!
We're watching "Waiting For Superman." I recommend that everyone watch it. It points out so many faults in our education system. I can't believe how much it's gone down in 40 years. Go to waitingforsuperman.com if you want to learn more, and watch the movie if you get a chance.

Hey all the people, as our little sister Noelle says. This is Mikey, or Mike, or however you know me. We had a great day today! Though, while we were driving there was a crazy accident.
Right around the surf spot V-lands on kam highway, there was this van that decided to pass a semi, us, and a red suv. Although, the red suv had it's blinker on and was turning left. If you haven't guessed yet, the van had no place to go and smashed into the front end of the red car, pushing it back to the right of the road. I was more concerned about the semi behind us, but it slowed down. The people in the van looked PISSED when they pulled over. It looked like a husband and wife that came out. It was the first accident we've ever seen, everyone was alright and even though an airbag went off and small bits of both cars were on the road everyone was up and walking just fine. It was a minor accident to witness and everyone was okay, but it still shook us up a bit.
Other than that it was just a normal day. After kissing my amazing wife and surfing a bit, we had to tie a 35 pound weight to our dog to keep her from running away.....she's like deathly afraid of the sand.....she's fine with water, but hates the sand. Maybe we'll look up tips from the dog whisperer.
Then we got ted's chocolate haupia pie slices and watched a movie. It was a great day.

Hello,

I have wanted to blog for a while now, and Mikey didn't tell me no.
I'm not sure what is so appealing about blogging, but I like it more than Facebook, because I don't feel like blogging my feelings to my 460 acquaintances and filling their news feeds with our lives. So, if you're here, hopefully you want to be. :) Plus, I think an online journal of our experiences would be updated more than our paper ones...
We just had our sixth month anniversary! We celebrated by studying!! Unfortunately, we both had midterms on Monday so we needed to study. It's crazy how quick the months have flown by, but they've been a lot of fun. This is our view from the Hilton Hotel on our honeymoon. Oahu is gorgeous and our home but we would never suggest ANYONE to stay at the Hilton. It was the most terrible hotel ever.
Hey world, or the few that read this.....so like Ashtyn and I and our mom's I guess. The Hilton was really terrible. We felt like kids at camp sneaking out whenever we wanted to eat somewhere. THEY DIDN'T EVEN ALLOW DELIVERIES TO OUR ROOM!!! because of "security" it was amazing to have Ashtyn ALL to myself though. I love her. Don't tell her I said this, but she's the only person I always want to be around forever and I feel our future whenever I hold her. Anything that I could ever be doing, if she is doing it with me it makes it much better.
I guess we have some catching up to do since we're updating about our honeymoon that happened a while back, but there's nobody else that I would want to blog with and share every experience in life with. Gosh! She just kissed me a couple times, I am SO LUCKY! :) We hope to update y'all more when we can.

Aloha
